Tyrosine is a type of amino acid, which are the building blocks of protein. The body makes tyrosine from another amino acid called phenylalanine.
In the diet, tyrosine can be eaten in dairy products, meats, fish, eggs, nuts, beans, oats, and wheat. The body uses tyrosine to make chemical messengers that are involved in conditions affecting the brain, such as mental alertness.
People most commonly use tyrosine in protein supplements for an inherited disorder called phenylketonuria (PKU). It is also used for alcohol use disorder, coca ine* dependence, and memory and thinking skills, but there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Freely soluble in formic *acid, very slightlysoluble in water, practically insoluble in ethanol and in ether. Dissolve in dilute hy drochloric acid and in dilute nitric *acid*. Aside from being a proteinogenic amino acid, tyrosine has a special role by virtue of the ph enol functionality. It occurs in proteins that are part of signal transduction processes. It functions as a receiver of phosphate groups that are transferred by way of protein kinases (so-called receptor tyrosine kinases). Phosphorylation of the hydroxyl group changes the activity of the target protein.
Tyrosine is a nonessential amino acid the body makes from another amino acid called phenylalanine. It is an essential component for the production of several important brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, including e pinephrine, nore pinephrine, and dopamine. Neurotransmitters help nerve cells communicate and influence mood. Tyrosine also helps produce melanin, the pigment responsible for hair and skin color. It helps in the function of organs responsible for making and regulating hormones, including the adrenal, thyroid, and pituitary glands. It is involved in the structure of almost every protein in the body.
Function:
1.L Tyrosine is an important biological reagent.
2.L Tyrosine can be used in pharmaceutical interdediates, biochemical study, life sciences, agricultural research, beverage additive and feed stuff, etc.
3.L Tyrosine helps to calm the body, increase energy and enhance libido.
4.Tyrosine protects the skin from harmful UV light rays.
5.Tyrosine boosts one's mood, concentration,learning,and memory.
Applications:
Pharmaceutically, L-Tyrosine is used in hyper-thyroidism treatment; Special flavoring can be produced heated and reacted with saccharides.
