     Lantanone is a component of alicea alicea. It has the effects of stopping malaria, removing dampness and yellow, strengthening Yang, improving physical strength and vitality, reducing fatigue, bactericidal, anti-ulcer, antipyretic, and improving various diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
     
    It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia, and is a medicinal plant with anti-cancer, anti-malaria, and improvement of male sexual dysfunction. Lantinone is the main active component of Radix alici. The high purity lantanone can be used as a reference for the determination of the content of the extract of Alicea orientalis, or for pharmacological and toxicological research.

Function and efficacy

Eurycomanone is a quassinoid, a group of phytochemicals that are responsible for many of the biological activities of the Eurycoma longifolia plant. Some of these activities include: 

 

• Male fertility: Eurycomanone is traditionally used to improve male fertility, libido, and sexual prowess. Studies have shown that eurycomanone increases testostero ne production. 
   
• Cancer: Studies have shown that eurycomanone inhibits cancer cell growth and encourages cell death. 
   
• Antimalarial: The Eurycoma longifolia plant has been shown to have antimalarial effects. 
   
• Antiulcer: The Eurycoma longifolia plant has been shown to have antiulcer effects. 

Eurycomanone is thought to be central to the sex-hormone increasing effects of Eurycoma longifolia supplementation. In vitro, eurycomanone has been shown to enhance testoster one steroidogenesis through its inhibitory effects on aromatase, presumably causing testoster one production to increase to restore downstream estrogen homeostasis.
