      Dihydromyricetin, also known as Dihydromyricetin (DMY or DHM) , is a dihydroflavonol flavonoid compound. it was first isolated in 1940 from the leaves of the snake grape, and again in 1996 from the stems and leaves of rattan tea, was renamed dihydromyricetin. dihydrogen arbutus pigment widely exists in many kinds of plants, includes grapes , myricaceae, cuckoo, gambogic , euphorbiaceae olive branch, , fabaceae, mountain lam and clethraceae among them with the most abundant content of grape vine snake genera plants, show tooth if snakes in the grape , cany tea) content as high as 37.4% to 38.5%.
     
Dihydromyricetin has various biological activities, including liver protection, antioxidant, antibacterial and so on. In addition, has been shown to be a potent dihydropyrimidase inhibitor, can activate autophagy by inhibiting mTOR signal, can further inhibit the formation of mTOR complex (mTORC1/2) . These properties make dihydromyricetin have potential applications in scientific research and medicine.
